Privacy Policy
Snaptory - Last updated 13 October 2026
Snaptory has no account and does not collect your name, email address, or location. Your collection never leaves your phone. The app sends anonymous crash reports and anonymous usage events, which you can switch off, and a feedback message or a wrong-card report only if you choose to send one. Nothing we receive identifies you, and nothing is used for advertising or tracking.
Who is responsible
Snaptory is published by Happy Holos AB, org. nr 559605-1275, Sweden. Happy Holos AB is responsible for the data described in this policy. You can reach us at snaptory@happyholos.com.
Your collection stays on your device
Everything you record in Snaptory - the cards you own, their condition, quantity, what you paid, and any collections you build - is stored in a database on your phone. It is never uploaded to us or to anyone else. We operate no servers that hold your data, because there are none to hold it.
Your inventory, collections and piles are included in your device's own iCloud or Google backup. Exports are created only when you tap Export, and go only where you send them. We never receive either, which also means we cannot recover your data for you.
Camera images never leave your phone
Snaptory identifies cards by comparing them against a catalogue of card fingerprints that ships inside the app. That comparison happens entirely on your device, using your phone's own vision software. Live camera frames are processed in memory. The optional photo fallback writes a temporary app file and deletes it after processing. Images are never saved to your photo library, and camera images are never uploaded automatically. The one exception is a wrong-card report, below, which you send yourself after seeing exactly what goes.
Snaptory requests camera access for this and only this. It does not request access to your photo library, contacts, location, or microphone.
Feedback you send
If you use Send feedback in the More tab, the text you write is sent together with the app version, your platform and OS version, and the version of the card catalog on your device. Nothing else is attached: no name, email address, account, collection data, or device identifier. The message passes through a small Cloudflare Worker that we operate and is delivered to a private Discord channel that only the developer can see; no one else has access to it. Cloudflare and Discord process it under their own privacy policies, and Cloudflare sees your IP address as with any request. Do not put personal details in a message unless you want us to have them. Nothing is sent unless you tap Send.
Wrong-card reports
When Snaptory names the wrong card, a Wrong card? link lets you report it. The report shows you what will be sent before you tap Send report: a small picture of the card the camera saw, the cards the scanner considered, and the printed number it read. It carries no name, email address, or identifier, and it is sent only when you tap Send report. It is delivered to our analytics service (below) and used only to improve card recognition.
Anonymous usage and crash data
Snaptory sends anonymous crash reports and anonymous usage events to PostHog, an analytics service hosted in the European Union (Frankfurt). Usage events record things such as that a card was scanned or added (with the card's catalogue id, name and set), that a price link was opened, that the subscription offer was shown and from where, and once a day a summary of coarse counts (for example how many collections exist, in size ranges) and the app language. Crash reports contain the technical error and the app, device model, OS version and time zone. They do not contain the contents of your collection, your search text, or what you paid.
There is no account and no persistent identifier: the analytics service gets a new random identifier every time the app starts, so events from different launches cannot be joined to each other or to a person. Your IP address is discarded and is not used to estimate your location. The phone's operating-system crash component keeps one random installation number that is sent only when the app asks the analytics service for its configuration, never with events or crash reports. We use this data to find and fix bugs, to see which features are used, and to measure scan speed.
You can switch usage events off in More, Settings, Privacy, Share anonymous usage data. Crash reports are not covered by that switch, and a wrong-card report is always your own choice. Nothing here is sold or shared for advertising.
Subscriptions
Snaptory Pro is bought through the App Store or Google Play. The store handles payment and tells your phone whether a subscription is active. We receive no payment details, name, or email address, and we run no server that stores your subscription. Our analytics records that the subscription offer was viewed and which plan was purchased, without any identifier.
Who receives data from the app
Snaptory fetches card names, images, and market prices from public sources. These requests carry no personal information and no identifier for you or your device. As with any request over the internet, the receiving service can see your IP address, and each is governed by its own privacy policy. These files cover the whole catalog rather than querying per card, so no request reveals which cards you own.
The only services that receive data you or the app send are:
- Cloudflare and Discord, only when you tap Send in the feedback sheet: your message and the version details described above. It is delivered to a private Discord channel that only the developer of Snaptory can see, so no one else can read your feedback.
- PostHog (EU): anonymous crash reports and usage events, and wrong-card reports you send, as described above.
- App Store or Google Play: subscription purchase and status, handled by the store under its own privacy policy.
How long data is kept, and deleting it
Your collection is kept on your phone until you delete it or the app. Anonymous crash reports, usage events and wrong-card reports are kept for 30 days and then deleted automatically. Because none of them carries an identifier that links them to you, we cannot find or delete one person's events, and there is nothing to request. A feedback message stays in our private channel until we delete it; email us and we will delete yours.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask what personal data we hold about you, and have it corrected or deleted, by emailing snaptory@happyholos.com. You can also complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY), imy.se.
What Snaptory does not do
- No account, sign-in, or email address required.
- No tracking across apps or websites, and no advertising identifiers.
- No advertising and no advertising SDKs.
- No person-level profiles: analytics identifiers do not survive an app launch.
- No selling of data. Anonymous analytics are processed for us by PostHog and used for nothing else. Feedback and wrong-card reports you send are read by the developer and never sold.
Children
Snaptory is for collectors of all ages. It has no account or sign-up and collects no personal information from anyone, children included. Its anonymous analytics carry no identifier that survives an app launch. Young collectors are welcome, ideally together with a parent or guardian.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of Snaptory changes what it collects, this page will be updated before that version is released, and the date at the top will change. Should Snaptory ever collect personal data, you would be asked first.
